Students in Sports
The Maryland Disability Law Center and the Women’s Sports Foundation (WSF) have joined efforts to promote the inclusion of students with disabilities into physical education and athletic programs offered in Maryland public schools.
Please check this site next week for more information about this exciting project.
SPORTS STORIES
Below please find a link to a “story form” that Women’s Sports Foundation and MDLC worked to create to capture information about opportunities students with disabilities have to participate in school physical education, athletic, or physical fitness activities. We are looking for stories where kids have been “in the game” or had good participatory experiences, and examples of when they have been “on the side lines”, left out or had negative experiences. We hope to use these stories to educate others about the need for action and to provide examples of how it can be done. The stories can come from anyone with actual knowledge of the story. As provided below, personal information will not be shared without permission, although the example may be used in our education campaign.
